Doris married Victor V. Starrett January 27, 1935. They had three children, Barbara, Loretta, and Vernon (Buz) Starrett. Uncle Vic was hit by a car and killed while crossing the road on foot, Dec. 28, 1965, in Phoenix, AZ They spent many years working with the Navajo Indians at the LaVida Mission in Farmington, NM. For many years they lived at the Island district of Lemoore, CA and belonged to the Island Seventh Day Adventist Church. Auntie Doris has spent her later years living with her daughter Loretta, and family in TN, where she passed away, July 22, 2004. |
