WHAT IS YELLOW ROOT?

I would like to introduce you to a product that has been around for a long, long time. More than likely you have already heard of it. The Herb is called Yellow Root. Common Name: yellow dock, ground squirrel pea, twin leaf root, rheumatism root, helmet pod and golden seal. American Indians used root tea for stomach ulcers, colds, jaundice, cramps, sore mouth or throat, menstrual disorders, blood tonic, astringent, externally for piles and cancer. A folk remedy used in the South for diabetes and hypertension. The Fox Fire Books tells us this root is an age old remedy used for today's ailments. Botanical name: xanthorhiza simplicissima. Yellow Root was used for: Itch, Sores, Stomach Trouble, Spring Tonics, Worms, Yellow Jaundice, Fever Blisters, Gout, Shingles, Arthritis, Kidney Problems and Rheumatism.

Yellow Root Contains Berberine which is An Alkaloid (q.v.) derived from the roots and bark of the plant Berberis Aristata, a deciduous evergreen shrub. It has a broad spectrum antibiotic activity against selective bacteria including vibrio cholera, shingella and pseudomonas, E coli and proteus. It inhibits the action of the vibro chlorea toxin when administered before or with the enterotoxin in the animals and it has been shown to be the entertoxin in the treatment of cholrea and related diarrhoeas in man.

We have packaged this product 2 ways. One way is in 1/2 ounce packages. This package contains instructions on how to make the tea and the recommended dosage. The Yellow Root in this package has been splintered in order to give the Customer the maxim benefit of the herb. Another way is Yellow Root Concentrate which has been Tested and Approved by The Department Of Agriculture. The Concentrate comes with full instructions and suggested dosage. Mix with your favorite Fruit Juice. Cranberry Juice is good, Apple Juice or Apple Cider is very good.

Virginia's Produce, located at the Georgia State Farmers Market in Forest Park, GA. has been distriburing Yellow Root for Years! (23 to be exact) Virginia has heard over and over again, the testimonies from her customers about the many virtues of this product.
