Joshua Boomer was born about 1578. I'm not sure who he married, but I do know of one son, Matthew. He lived in Gravesend, England Essex county in the 1600's.
Matthew Boomer, son of Joshua, was born about 1630 in Gloucester, England. He married Elinor Peckham, daughter of John and Eleamor (Weaver) Peckham. She was born somewhere around 1640 and died in 1727. Matthew came to America in 1647 as a servant of Edmund Needham, who was the first land owner in Freetown, Mass. He was the only Boomer to immigrate. His house was burnt to the ground by Indians in the late war. He was often in court as a member of petty jury, but usually as a defendant. He was charged with committing a riot and his wife was charged with committing a felony. The jury found them not guilty in all cases. On June 1, 1675 he was summoned to court for "His residing in government without order, and not attending public worship of God, living in the heathenish way and lonely life away from the good society". Matthew and Elinor had two children, namely, Mary and Matthew. Mary, born about 1660, married John Buton and then Gideon Freeborn. Another one of my sources says that she also married a John Lawton. She died after 1715.
Matthew Boomer, son of Matthew, was born on Sept. 26, 1668 in Newport, RI. He married Hannah Church on June 27, 1668 in Freetwon, Mass. He drowned in Freetwon in 1735. He was fined for beating John Brandon of Freetown and for flirting with John's wife Mary in March of 1685/6.
