What is Dying?

The saddest thought we can ever think is that death is the end of everything. All hope is snuffed out of an individual if one is forced into that kind of a belief system. The two great sins of atheism is 1). There is no God and 2). There is no life after death. I watched some of the memorial service for the Sept. 11 victims. If one could count the number of times God was used. If one could count the number of times the mourners where comforted with the thought their deceased loved ones were now far better off. One should realize there is a need to believe in both God and life after death. The reason for that need is HOPE. In god there is hope that this isn't the only thing there is. Belief in a spiritual existence there is hope of what that better life is. When tragedy strikes, everyone needs hope.
The good thing about knowing about Spiritualism is that we don't have to go through life with just HOPE. With Spiritualism we enter into the world of truth and knowledge. We can as human beings enter into the world of the (living) dead [they are not dead at all, they are the ones who are truly alive]. The confusion comes about because we see a body that has lost its life force and proclaim DEATH. When the reality is, the body was animated by the real life force, the spirit, and the two have become separated. The real body, the spirit body, continues to live and will always continue to exist.
So, what is dying like then? If a person dies, and it has been a struggle to die, i.e., a hardship on the mind, then the spirit would be put into a sleep like state whereby the spiritual energy could be replenished. On awakening, we would be met by those we know and loved and who loved us, who have passed on before us. Often times there are also family pets around to keep us company. If we die without any undo stress and we have an idea of what is waiting for us, it is like walking from your living room to your kitchen, you hardly notice it at all. If it was by an accident and it was sudden, you might simply be able to witnessing the scenes of earth and events that were happening around you as if you were still there, but not there. In all instances it would not be long before the loved ones and friends came to greet you. You can see one version of dying, if you were to view the movie, "What Dreams May Come" and another version by seeing "Ghost". There are bits of truth in these movies, along with lots of bits of hype, but enough to get a good idea what it is like passing over. You have a body, but, you don't need to eat or drink or any of the other bodily functions. The Spirit world is a world of the mind. Over there you learn to do things by thinking them. If your saw "What Dreams May Come" you will remember Robin Williams dies and he has created his existence from what he would have liked 'heaven' to be while he was physically alive. What many get over there is mostly what they expect to get, because, being a world of thought, they have created their existence from previous thoughts. The reality of the matter is that there is no god sitting on a throne, no Jesus ready to cast thunder bolts and no man with a pitchfork and horns to carry us off to hell. (You can read more about this part of it in the article on heaven/hell on this web site.) We are told by the spirit teachers that we feel just the same body wise that is. We begin to return (if we died of old age) to an existence likened unto when we were 'in our prime'. Our relatives and friends will at first appear as we remember them, but this is only for our comfort. Soon, after being with them, we will begin to see them change and become youthful and energetic looking.
If you died without a leg or arm or whatever, you would be whole and your body would be perfectly complete. Many times persons have come back via mediums and announced to the living relative, "mom, I can run and jump now, everything is fine." This will mean so much to the relative because the child was bound to a wheel chair before dying. After having been there awhile, and you want to visit someone, you have choices. You can start walking or you can think yourself there, providing it is alright with the one you want to visit. Mental telephones without the phone bill, lol. Faster than light travel and no plane, train or car fares. A marvelously wonderful world. Maybe this dying thing isn't such a bad thing after all. Of course it's not. It is a liberation.
