NCCP Implementation Agreement After several years of negotiations, an Implementation Agreement was reached by the NCCP on July 17, 1996 for the Nature Reserve of Orange County. It was determined that the existing public open space was insufficient. Barham Ranch was one of the top 5 preferred sites the plan recommended to be incorporated into the Reserve System.
The agreement participates includes:
California Resources Agency California Department of Fish and Game California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection California Department of Parks and Recreation United States Fish and Wildlife Service County of Orange Cities within Orange County San Joaquin Hills Transportation Corridor Agency Foothill/Eastern Transportation Corridor Agency Orange County Fire Authority Orange County Flood Control District Regents of the University of California Santiago Water District Irvine Ranch Water District Metropolitan Water District of Southern California Southern California Edison Chandis Securities Company The Irvine Company
All but one of the five properties have already been committed -- Barham Ranch.
Upon the acquisition of Barham Ranch, the mission of completing the Northern NCCP for current and future generations will be accomplished.
