Computer Easter Eggs are those hidden items you will
find in many software programs. These secrets are
like Easter eggs, you have to search for them. On this
page we will make that search easier.

WINDOWS 3.1

In Win3.1 or Win3.11 goto any help screen. Click the about section.
Put the mouse cursor on flag hold down ctl key, shift key, and tab
key at same time while you double click the mouse.
You should see a waving flag the first time. If you go out
and come back you will get a different picture. There are
at least four different pictures.

Likely you might think of sleeping or snoring(especially
if seen in a cartoon).
Put four of these lower case z's in MS word any version
do a spell check and see what MS workers think it means.

In an upgraded Ms Word 97(has to be upgraded--not OEM or
regular version)
Open a blank document. Type the word Blue. Select it and
goto the format section. Choose Bold print. Select the color
Blue. Choose the Help section. Goto to the About section--
While holding down the Ctrl & shift keys--click on the Word icon.
Use the Z for the left flipper and the M for the right one. Use
the ESC key to exit.

In MS Word open a blank document. type :-) hit enter you should
get a smiley face. type :-( and you should get a sad face. If
you type :-| you get an indifferent face.

Got screen saver
Click 3D Text file
Click on Settings
In the text window put the word "volcano".
Click OK
Run your screen saver and the names of Volcanoes will appear.

Windows 95 and 98 Easter Egg
Create a new folder on your desktop.
Name it:
"and now, the moment you've all been waiting for"
(minus the quotes.)
then rename it:
"we proudly present for your viewing pleasure"
(again minus the quotes.)
rename one last time to:
"The Microsoft Windows 95 Product Team!"
(again minus the quotes.)
Then open the folder... Enjoy!!!!
Note: If you have Windows 98 for the last one type "The Microsoft
Windows 98 Product Team!"
If you type all these exactly you WILL get it!

Desktop Credits
This Easter Egg works in both Desktop 1.0 and 2.0
Open the Desktop
Go to the Address List
Click on New, to bring up a new entry
Enter in as the last name(without the quotes): "Who Wrote This?"
Make sure you capitalize each word. Mark this entry as Private.
You'll see on the right "Shh... its a secret"
Add a category called "secret".
Set the new entry to this category. You'll now see a list of
credits for the Desktop application.
Taxi Cab
The Taxi Cab appears as a small taxi that goes accross your
PalmPilot screen under certain conditions. The easiest way to
invoke it is to use the Taxi application written by Dale Gass (OS1.x only).
The exact circumstances that must be met to see the taxi are
spelled out in the text file that is included.
Originally thought to be taken out of PalmOS 2.x, the Taxi is still there!
Here's how to get it:
Go to Preferences, General Tab
Draw a small circle, counter-clockwise, on the screen right
above the calculator silk-screen button. If done properly, you
should see an Easter Egg appear.
Now, draw a line from the middle of the Graffiti input area to
the left edge of the screen right between the applications and
menu silkscreen buttons.
Developer Team Credits
Go to the Memory App. Place stylus on the top of the screen and
press the down button. You'll see a scrolling list of names and
the title: Development Team Credits" Picture of two people Start
the Giraffe game. Hold your stylus in the lower right corner, the
press the page up button.
Drive C Error
Start the Giraffe game. Hold your stylus on the top of the
screen, and press the page down button.
Dancing Palm
Start the Giraffe game. Tap the help button, then draw the "#"
character.
