I enjoyed your site. I was looking for info on my grandfather, Charles Eirhart b.ca.1851 in IN (Monticello, maybe?) d. ca. 1912 near Terre Haute, IN ? m.? Phoebe Jane Little b. 24 Nov. 1859 d.13 June 1941 Pleasant Valley, Jo Daviess Co. IL. I have not be n able to find anything on grandfather Charles, but found my grandmother as the head of the household in the 1900 IL. census along with 5 of 8 children listed. Since I have not had much luck with the spelling of our surname, I decided to check out other v rious ways that it may have been spelled. I noticed that your grandmothers name was Zella--it may have been a coincidence but I had an Aunt Zelma Eirhart who sometimes was called "Elma". I desperately want to find my roots. Pretty Cool webpage. I just started research for my great great grandfather, Casper Gernhauser, from Bavaria. Casper came to USA around 1849. I don't know what town he was from, but had found Anna Maria Gernhauser who married Johann Konrad Garr in Mitt lfranken, Bayern in 1805. Are the Gernhausers any relation to the Garrs in your tree? Casper Gernhauser is only Gernhauser that I know of that came to America. I found some others in Deiningen, but we're still looking to see if there is a connection. Give me an email sometime.
