Welcome to my pages of Birdwatching. My favorite hobby is to watch birds. These pages are thought to be a kind of introduction to the birds of Trentino/Vallagarina through my own private observations, "supported" by articles and abstracts copied from different sources and links to other websites about birds in this region. The area where I normally bird around is deliminated by the red line on the map here to the right. Living in Rovereto the larger part of my observations naturally comes from around that area but now and then I stray further off to the lake of Garda, Toblino or Caldonazzo or Foci dell'Avisio. The map is a "sensible" map so you just need to click on one of the numbers to jump to the relevant page.

Today it's more than 25 years that I do birdwatching. I started out with my dad when I was around 12 years old and until university I made my observations on the northwestern coast of Denmark. After graduating from university in 1996 I moved to Trentino (northern Italy) and now that I know the area quite well, I have decided to make these pages.
This main page is in English - but the other pages are all in Italian. I'll try translating them when I have more time, but most birdnames are also written in Latin to help undestanding.

These places are almost all biotopes protected by The Autonomous Province of Trento.
LIPU - Birdlife Italy is collaborating with The Autonomous Province of Trento with the project "Birdwatching in the biotopes".
