Dear Gram & Gramps,

Guess what I did in school today! I will tell you..."We sat on our rug and talked about the special helper for the day. It was my friend, Katie. She talked about how she rides horses, and she brought in her special riding helmet so we could all look at it. And then, we went to the library! We were not allowed to take out any books for today, but she showed us around so we would know where everything was so we could find it next week. Oh yeah, before that, we read a story. We read the story ' Froggie goes to School', it was really funny! He had a funny dream in the story, he dreamed he got on the bus and didnt have any clothes on!! Then, we left the library and went back to our classroom. The library is right across for our classroom so we didnt have to walk far, and when we got there we sat on the tile and had our milk snack. Then we packed up our things and we were finished with school for the day! We lined up ( I was first!) and we walked out. I found Mom and we got in the car to go home...sound like a fun day?? It was for me!!

Tell you more tomorrow!

Kaitlin

Dear Gram and Gramps,

Good news! I had good day today, so I am allowed to use the computer this evening. Yeah! Today my class had art! This is the first tme I have gone to art class, and I really liked it! My teachers' name is Mrs. Habel. You pronounce it like cable with a "H", that is what she said so we can remember it! Because it was our first time with Mrs Hable, we just played a game together. We had to match us words that she said with words on the wall. My friend, Maria, was the special helper for the day and she chose me to help her pass out our snack. It was the best part of my day! We also made a special "C" book today, I cut out a bunch of pictures, colored them, and I glued them inside my book. It was fun! Tomorrow is Library, and that will be great. I will let you know how it goes at the library, and the rest of the day.
Bye and Love,

Kate

Dear Gram and Gramps,

Well, where do I start? How 'bout I start at Monday. Monday is Art Class. I think I told you just a bit about that day. Remember, I told you about the word game that we played with my teacher, Mrs. Habel. Moving on, Tuesday, was library day. WE were not allowed to check anything out, but we were told that next week we would be able to check some books out. That day we also did our stations at school. We learned about different types of jobs that a person could have. We had to decorate our pictures with things that a vet would use at his office. I also decided that I wanted to be a pediatricin when I grow up! In Gym class, on Wednesday, We had to do obstacle courses. WE had to jump over hurdles and run around things. It was great fun! At our stations that day we learned about a shape called the rhombus. It is very interesting, and we had to do some drawings of it at our stations. In music class on Thursday our teacher, Mr. Kozar, taught us a brand new song. I enjoy that class, we always learn fun things there. That day, we worked more on our letter for the week. It was still the letter "C". This next week we will be starting on the letter "F". I have already picked out my pictures for my ABC Book. I chose a fish, a flower, and a frog. On Friday in computer class, we made pictures on our computers. Our teacher asked us to make pictures of the American Flag. When we finished with the pictures, she printed them our for all of us, and we were allowed to bring them home. Mom liked mine a whole bunch, she put it on the frige On Friday we also got red, white, and blue ribbons to put on our shirts to remember the people that died this week. We also said prayers for them in school. I had a pretty good week, I hope you did too. I will see you tomorrow!!

Dear Grandma & Grandpa,

Hello! Whew, have I had a tough couple of days. It really is a lot of work, this kindergarten stuff. Well, yesterday was pretty cool, I got to take hom the "Be An Explorer" bag. You get the bag when a helper draws your clothespin out of a bag (each of us has a clothespin with our name on it)...ok, so my name was drawn on Momday, and we get to keep the bag for 2 days. In the bag is oks, nets, tweezers, and spoons. All the stuff we need to play in the dirt or find something in nature. Then, we have to write a little report about what we find. We draw a picture at the top and when we take it back to school we get to tell all about it! That part will be tomorrow for me! WE found a grasshopper (Dad was walking out the door and saw it!) I will let you know how my report to the class went tomorrow! Today we had library and we got to do this really cool dot to dot. Yesterday was Art class and that was pretty cool too. Our teacher is teaching us a bunch of new art terms, so we know what she is talking about when she speaks to us! Well, school is exausting, but i am having lots of fun with it! I will tlak to you again tomorrow!!
Love, Kaitlin

Gram & Gramps,

Hello! How are you today? We just got back from the zoo (I told you a little about that), and I am really tired from it all. My day was pretty good. I had computer class today. Mrs. Ascensio lets us play ona program called "Kid Pix"..it is lots of fun. We get to use the program to make different pictures, and today we got to practice our letters using it! This week we were learning about the letter "F". We studied farms, friends, and our senses this week. I made a few really cool books this week. One was about senses, the other about farms, adn the other was about the letter "F". Today I got to bring home the "Sharing Bag". That means that on Monday, I am the SPECIAL HELPER!! The special helper gets to bring in a toy or something that starts with the letter of the week! So, I am thinking about what I have that starts witht he letter F. Any suggestion?? I will see you guys tomorrow!!

Dear Grandma and Grandpa,

Well, it has been quite a week. I was busy busy busy! On Monday in Art class we continued our study of Norman Rockwell. I really enjoy art class, but i thought we would do more drawing not so much talking. Tuesday, library day, didnt start the way it was supposed to. You see, Dad dropped me off at school and forgot to give me my book that mom had put on the front seat (so he wouldnt forget, but he did). So when I went to the library, I didnt have my book, so I couldnt get another one :( Luckily, mom brought it back when she picked me up so we ran into the library and I was able to get another book. My mom is the greatest, isnt she? I picked a new book, Sister Annie's hands. Its a real page turner. Wednesday was gym class. We played a game named "Charlie over the Ocean", I will make sure I explain it to you next time I see you. Today was music, had a great time, as always and we learned a new song. I tried to explain the song to Mom, but it involves a "lot of activity with different parts" (dont worry, she doesnt know what that means eaither) so it is hard to explain what the song is about. So anyway, tomorrow is Friday, computer class. I enjoy computer class because many times my teacher lets us use the "paint" on our computer. I really enjoy that, but we are only allowed to do that if we finish all of our other work. I will let you know how it gos, and I will see you this weekend!!

Heeeelllooooo Grams and Gramps,

I tell ya, this kindergarten stuff can be tough. Im exausted! The week was supposed to start with art class, but it did not b/c once a month we have an all school mass. I sat next to my 8th grade buddy, he doesnt say a whole lot to me but then again it is church and we are supposed to be quiet.... Tuesday was Library day!! I love library day. I picked up a new story about "Where there is smoke". Mom and I read it, and it is a story that deals with fire safty. It was interesting b/c the day before Dad had set off our own fire detector when he was "cooking" french fries...Dad picked a great time to do that too, given the fact that it was naptime!!! Always something with him. Wednesday was gym class. This week we played games that involved jumping over ropes. After that, we played the world renowed game, "Snake"...you know the one, where you wiggle the rope on the floor and everyone has to jump over it. Today was music. We learned a new little diddy..it goes like this: Bee bee Bumble Bee Stung a man upon his knee Stung a pig upon his snout I declare that you are out editors note: I think I am missing a few keys details in the relaying of the story. The song would lead me to believe there was some kind of game that went along with this song but the kindergartener denies this. After that one, we played the Farmer in the Dell. All in all, it was an enjoyable music class. Tomorrow is computers and that is always fun. I will let you know how it goes...See you tomorrow!! Kate

Today our entry is grandma's summary of a phone conversation with Kaitlin.

Hi Grandma,

I had a very interesting and exciting day in school today. We were in music class when an announcement came out the PA system. It said that St. Nicholas had just been spotted out on the front lawn, so we all rushed to the window and there was St. Nicholas on a horse.
Also in our classroom there was a magic elf who can do anything it wants to when the class isn't looking...and no one in my classroom brought it in.
Also today we each took off one of our shoes and we were walking around with only one shoe on. Later we found that St Nicholas had filled each of our shoes with a candy cane and a bookmark. Bye. Love you. Kaitlin

Grandma,

Helllloooo from the Superstar!! I had a great day at school. Leaving school was another story, Daddy slammed me in the head with the car door. He later made an attempt to win me back by bribing me with lunch. Guess it worked. Anyway, I took my birthday treats in this morning, and I handed them out to all my classmates. They liked them! We are studying "B"'s this week, it is way beyond exciting. We are studying special days this week. We had to make a birthday card for someone that we knew, I chose to make mine for daddy. I actually chose mommy initially, but could not remember her birthday, so I had to move to my next choice. I got to tell about my superstar poster. the other boys and girls thought it was interesting that I had lived in Germany. I also got to tell about my "Big Sister Certificate". Mrs. Pellisier said she didnt know that you could take a big sister class, it was a surprise for all. All in all it was a great day. I have gymnastics tonight so I have to run to take a quick nap. Will talk with you later. Kaitlin
