Ida Mae Shively.  He married (1) Nellie Kathryn Goff November 24, 1921 in Hoxie, KS.  She was born July 24, 1902, and died April 22, 1996 in Hill City, Kansas.  She was the daughter of Thomas Franklin Goff Jr. and Clara Emma Cole.

      2.  Frederick William Kohart, born February 18, 1868 in Warrian, Germany; died August 15, 1935 in Leland Cemetery, Graham Co KS.  He was the son of 4. Wilhelm Kohardt and 5. Sophie Groth.  He married 3. Ida Mae Shively June 12, 1889 in Oakwood,

Ohio.

      3.  Ida Mae Shively, born April 13, 1866 in Dunkirk, Ohio; died January 15, 1951 in Leland Cemetery, Graham Co KS.  She was the daughter of 6. David Shively and 7. Nancy Hineline.

Obituary

AUGUST 29, 1935

 

  Fred Kohart was born in Warrien, Germany February 18, 1868 and died at his home in Abilene, Kansas,

August 15, 1935 at the age of 67 years 5 months and 27 days.  When a small boy of 4 years, he migrated with his parents to America, settling at Findlay, Ohio and later moving to Oakwood, Ohio where he grew to manhood.

  On June 12, 1889 he was united in marriage to Ida M. Shively and to this union were born six children.

 Miss Flossie Yorgensen of Ames, Iowa, David W. of Abilene, Kansas, Roy and Everett of Penokee, Kansas and Edward and Eva who precedes him in death.

  In August 1899 he moved his family to Ruskin, Nebraska where he resided until he moved to a farm south of Penokee in Graham County, Kansas.

  In the spring of 1920, he moved with his wife to Abilene, where he resided until his death.

  He leaves to mourn his departure his faithful wife, one daughter, three sons, fifteen grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Miller of Jackson, Michegan, Mrs. Anne Leatherman of Hanover, Michegan, and two brothers, Charles and William of Oakwood, Ohio. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. R.A. Collins August 18 at 3 pm at the Leland Union Church and interment was made in the Leland Cemetery.

Partial Obituary for Flossie Yorgensen

 

ABILENE -- Flossie May Yorgensen, 96, Abilene, died Monday, April 7, 2003, at am Abilene hospital.

Mrs. Yorgensen and her husband farmed in the Ames, Iowa, area from 1932 to 1951.

She was born Dec. 18, 1906, in Penokie, to Frederick and Ida Mae Shively Kohart. She was raised in Abilene and moved back to Abilene from Iowa in 1951.

She married Mearl Yorgensen on May 17, 1926.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Danner Funeral Home in Abilene. Burial will be in Abilene Cemetery.
