Border Terrier Breed Information

Border Terriers are small (about 15 pounds) usually brown dogs, that should have no white markings (so ignore Harry's chest). Harry, Free, and Gally are "grizzle and tan" in color. One interesting piece of trivia is that each of the hairs on a grizzle and tan Border Terrier body can have all the brown coloration found on the rest of their body. Other Border Terriers can be a solid brown (the brown varying from reddish to yellowish and dark to light) or a "blue and tan" which looks a lot like the black and tan German Shepherd markings, but should have lighter hairs coming up through the black part to make it appear blue.

-- The Border Terrier in Brief was written by a group of breeders and I think it's the best description of Border Terriers found anywhere.
-- The BTCA club link is extremely well done and is also a must see if you are interested in the breed.
