Welcome to the Home of Jedi the Chartreux
Hi everybody, my name is Jedidiah, but my folks just call me Jedi for short. I was born
October 7, 1994, in Austin, Texas to a Champion Chartreux named Aneise Gacinthe. My father,
Devon, is a Grand Champion Chartreux in North Carolina. I first started this web site over
4 years ago so people could see my pictures; this is the first major update of that site,
and there are several new things in it.
I have added a new story in the continuing saga of trying to live with my folks. I hope you
enjoy this story of the trials of trying to find a warm place to sleep on a cold wintry night.
I have added several pictures to the Friends of Jedi page. Please take a look
and send Jedi your picture if you like.
This is a picture of me sitting on one of the many convenient high places I have in my house,
the kitchen counter. You can't see it in this photograph, but just to my left I have a big water
glass that I drink from. It took my folks a week or so to figure this out, but I much prefer
this to a bowl of water on the floor. I especially like bottled spring water, chilled but not
too cold. Since Pippa came to live with us, we've started preferring the water in the same glass,
but on the floor so it's easier for her to reach.
This picture shows a bit about the type of cat I am, a Chartreux. You can tell that I am
gorgeous, with uniformly gray fur (which I prefer to call "bleu", since I am French)
and deep bronze eyes. Too bad you can't rub my fur, so you could feel how soft it is. (I'd
probably run away, though, since I don't take to strangers very quickly.) I'm also quite big,
weighing around 20 pounds. Though I am a bit plump, most of that weight is muscle, and I enjoy
demonstrating my strength by shredding my wooden kitchen stools.
Here's a picture of my stools, and then one of me asleep on the counter.
Come on in and I'll give you a guided tour of my house. My pages are divided
into several sections. First, take a tour of my house, where you will see all the places
I spend my day. Then I'll show you some pictures of myself as a kitten. Next, have some
fun & games in the Oracle and Litter Box pages (don't worry - they're family-friendly!)
By that time, you'll be ready to read some of my illustrated stories; these pages will
change often, so be sure to visit again!
One of the newest things here is Pippa, my little sister. Be sure to look at her page,
and check back often, as I'll be putting up more pages of Pippa and me together - as soon
as my folks can take them for me.
More news! Our web site was featured in the American Humane Association's Summer 2000 issue of
Animal Advocate, one of only four cat web sites to be so honored! Thanks, Staci, for
making us a part of that fun article.
Before you leave, please remember to sign my guest book, and read some of the nice things that
other visitors have said about me. And don't forget that you can use the Chartreux Web Ring to
find other Chartreux cat sites on the Internet. (If you know of Chartreux sites that aren't on
the ring, encourage them to join - we want all the world to know about us!)
Founding site of the Chartreux Web Ring. When you're ready to visit some other Chartreux
cat web sites, just come here and press the "Next" or "Previous" buttons to navigate through
the ring, or select "List" to see all the sites in the ring!
