Prayer intentions on-line

We are a small but growing community here in Stamford,CT. Our main purpose in the Church is "prayer." To this end we gather as a community seven times daily to pray the Divine Office. In addition to this we have times of private prayer in the early morning and evening hours. These times of prayer provide a rich preparation for the celebration of the daily Eucharist together with friends and neighbors.

St Clare enjoined us to work so as not to extinguish the spirit of prayer and contemplation. Following this injunction our whole day, even though many times we are engaged in the common household tasks, is space for prayer and reflection.

Often we are called upon to remember in our prayer people who are sick and suffering or who have passed on to eternal life and their families who are grieving. Other times we are asked to offer prayers of thanksgiving for favors received, good results from tests, a new employment situation, a birth of a new child, or a special anniversary. With this in mind we decided to open our web site as a place for you the larger community to send prayer intentions. Although we are a Roman Catholic communitycommunity at times of need we have been we have been called upon to pray with people of all faiths.

Our life is one of faith and trust is the Lord. Any donations we receive go to our community here in Stamford to allow us to continue to be a praying presence.

We are in process of trying to purchase this property to allow us to build for new Vocations. Yes, women today are still answering the call Saint Clare heard over 800 years ago. We are six people living and working in a three bedroom house. That in it self explains the need to expand, soon.

Maybe you, too, are a woman, experiencing a desire to follow the Lord, by living in community, as a vowed religious. The call comes in so many ways and at different times depending upon our openness to respond. The Lord is never out done in generosity. God always provides a way to follow through if it is really a vocational call.

If you desire to pursue the possibility of a vocation with our community contact us at:

and in the subject area write the word Vocation.
