Erin M. Ryan Dice


Her obituary read:

Erin was born July 2. 1972 , child of James P. and Gail Harju Ryan. She died August 25, 1996 at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn of complications while fighting lymphoma.

Erin graduated from Salem High School, in Canton, MI, in 1990 where she participated in track, ski club, French Club, Honors Society and helped organize the Key Club, where she served as the first president. She was very interested in photography, music and dance, and liked to go biking and rollerblading.

She attended Kalamazoo College, where she majored in international studies/economics. While in college, she traveled throught Europe, worked with the AMA in Chicago and enjoyed a six-month foreign study at Nagoya University in Japan. She received her bachelor's degree in 1994.

While attending college, she met her husband, Gregg, who was also a student. Erin and Gregg were married on July 16, 1994 at the Henry Ford Estate in Dearborn, MI, in a rose garden ceremony she planned. She and Gregg both worked at United Technologies Automotive in Dearborn, MI., until she obtained a position at American Yazaki in Canton, MI. They resided in Northville, MI.

Besides her husband, Erin is survived by her parents, James P. and Gail D. Ryan of Canton, MI; her brother, James M. Ryan; grandmother, Edith M. Jones of Livonia, MI; grandfather, William N. Ryan of Mobile, AL; parents-in-law, Dan L. and Coleen K. Dice of Big Rapids, MI; and by many living aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers. Erin was a loving and giving person, and she will be greatly missed.
