JUST A LITTLE ABOUT ME

As things were unfolding with Daniel, I had this brainstorm of going back to school and continuing my education. How's that for a display of intelligence? lol Yet I did it and I hold a duel Associates Degree in Accounting and Data Processing, with Honors, I appear in the Who's Who Among Students of American Junior Colleges" and also appearing in the "National Deans List, both being great honors, so I've been told.

For years I only worked Temp Jobs here and there so I could devote much of my time to my children. They have done so well over these past few years they do not seem to need me as much anymore so I now work full time Decorating Lives with Home Interiors & Gifts while I still make sure that thier needs are met through the Educational and Medical worlds. The members of the Board of Education Committee On Special Education STILL ADORE ME! =)What I love the most about Home Interiors & Gifts is that I am able to do something I enjoy and be home for my children at the same time.

I have been advocating for the past 15 years and am very proud of the progress that I have aided my children in achieving! I have also assisted other parents in various ways from just lending that shoulder to cry on, words of encouragement, explaining various stages of the evaluaton process and the rights for thier children and them as parents of a special child.I do encourage ALL parents, whether of normal or special children, to always stay involved in their childs progress. The teachers nor the parents can do it alone! "It takes a villagae to raise a child" especially these days! But with children with disabilities......thier progress strongly depends on parents and teachers working together on a day-to-day basis as a TEAM. As a parent of children with disabilities,I am more than happy to reach out to other parents. I have learned over the years that WE, as parents, need a good support system just as much as our children do. Someone or someplace to find that little bit of strength, moral support, advice or just to know that you are not alone. If you are a parent of a child with Disabilites and just need someone to talk to feel free to E-mail me, I'll be more than happy to listen and lend a helping hand if I can.

When I'm not working for myself or for the boys, I have many hobbies that I keep myself occupied with. I do alot of needlework, ranging from knitting to counted-cross stitch, I like to decorate around the house (gee imagine that), draw and paint which all come in handy considering we just bought a house.

Along the way God has truly blessed me with a wonderful man in my life. To quote my sister " God took two incomplete lives and combined them to make a happy life for two" We have indeed combined our lifes, but in our case, we didn't make two we made SIX. He is the Dad of two beautiful and wonderful daughters who have added so much to my life! All we need now is Alice and you'd have the Brady Bunch lol
