There was a girl named Chrysanthemum, she's very beautiful. Her mom, on the other hand was her opposite, she was really ugly. She has hair that's short and spiky. Her face has a lot of unsightly marks with skin peeling off and scars all over.

Chrysanthemum's mom loves her very much, although she doesn't appreciate her mom's attention. She would sacrifice everything to make her girl happy, because for her Chrysanthemum was the most precious thing to come to her life.

Soon enough, Chrysanthemum started going to school, she had a lot of friends. Most girls would envy her for she was the most beautiful girl in school.

One time, it was her birthday. She invited her friends to her home for a party. Her mom cooked all her favorite dishes, and bake a big delicious cake for her. She had a wonderful time. But just then her mom appeared. Her friends got frightened by her ugly looks, some even make some comments about her mom. Chrysanthemum was very ashamed that she shouted at her mom and told her to get out of their sight. Later, she told her friends that that was their maid. Her mom heard it, but didn't say anything . She just want her daughter to be happy.

After the party, Chrysanthemum became very rude to her mom. She was angry because her friends laughed at her. She told her mom that she must never go to school with her ever again.

One afternoon, it was raining hard. Chrysanthemum's mom was worried that her daughter might catch a cold, so she decide to bring her an umbrella. When she reached the school, she saw Chrysanthemum coming out of the building with her friends, she quickly ran over to give her the umbrella. Instead of being thankful, Chrysanthemum shouted at her mom in front of her friends and throw the umbrella at her. Her mom was deeply hurt that she ran home as fast as she could.

When Chrysanthemum got home, she saw her mother crying. Her mom upon seeing her, called her to her side and said," My daughter, you know I was once a very beautiful woman. It happened that one day, our house caught fire when you were just a baby. I was already out of the house when I realized that you were still inside, so I rushed through the fire and saved you. I ended up getting burned, that's how I got these ugly scars. I love you so much, I couldn't live without you. I'm sad that you are ashamed of me."

Chrysanthemum was touched by what her mother had just told her. She cried and cried, she was sorry for being rude. And from that day on, she became so proud of her mom that she told her friends about her mom's brave deed, because without this ugly woman, you wouldn't be seeing me, CHRYSANTHEMUM.

This story reminds us, that we are here in this world because of our parents. We got to be thankful for, without their nurturing and love, we won't be around today!
