Thanksgiving

"O give thanks unto the Lord for he is good, for his
mercy endureth forever." Psalms 107:1

Before we begin, I would like to pray a blessing for you:

Dear Heavenly Father- I ask that you bless each person
that comes to this site, not only on Thanksgiving but every
day. Bless them in every area of their lives. Lord, I pray that
each of us will be more thankful to You Lord, even the little
things. And in all things we give You the Thanks, Glory, and
Praise. Thank You Lord. In Jesus' name, Amen and Amen.

When we think of Thanksgiving, we think of turkeys,
pumpkins, pilgrims, cornucopias, parades, football, and getting
together with families. These are all part of Thanksgiving as
we have added them down through the years, but the most
important part, the main reason we celebrate Thanksgiving is
to thank the Lord for all the blessings He has given to us. That
is how Thanksgiving started with the Pilgrims and the Indians.
(If you are interested in the history of Thanksgiving, see links at
the bottom of page.)

Also, the word Thanksgiving means: It is the expression of
gratitude and the giving of thanks. Being thankful is a feeling
and a show of gratitude.

Thanksgiving is a time to praise and thank the Lord, who has given
us so much. Also, this is something we need to do every day, not
just Thanksgiving Day.

The Song you hear playing in the background is
called "GIVE THANKS".

Give thanks ..with a grateful heart..
Give thanks...to the Holy One
Give thanks...because He's given Jesus Christ His Son
(Repeat 3 times)

And now...let the weak say I am strong...
Let the poor say I am rich...because of what the Lord
has done for us....
(Repeat 2 times)

Give thanks...with a grateful heart...
Give thanks...to the Holy one..
Give thanks...because he's given Jesus Christ His Son
(Repeat 2 times)

Give thanks.......
Give thanks.....
Give thanks.....with a grateful heart......

"O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon His name: make
known His deeds among the people." Psalms 105:1

Here is a hymn that we always sing on Thanksgiving.

COME, YE THANKFUL PEOPLE, COME

Come ye thankful people come...Raise the song of harvest home!
All is safely gathered in, Ere the winter storms begin;
God, our Maker, doth provide...For our wants to be supplied;
Come to God's own temple, come, Raise the song of harvest home.

We ourselves are God's own field, Fruit unto His praises to yield:
Wheat and tares together sown, Unto joy or sorrow grown;
First the blade, and then the ear, Then the full corn shall appear;
Lord of harvest! Grant that we. Wholesome grain and pure may be.

"Give thanks for He is good. His love endures forever.
I Chronicles 16:32

Here is a song that speaks to the heart.

COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS

Count your blessings name them one by one.
Count your blessings see what God has done.
Count your blessing..name them one by one.
Then it will surprise you what the Lord has done!

This is a song that I sing all the time. It reminds me of all that
we have for which to be thankful. Stop right now and think and
write down everything you have for which to be thankful, even the
little things, Then give thanks to the Lord for all He has done for you!

HERE ARE SOME THINGS FOR WHICH WE CAN BE THANKFUL
(These are just the basic things we take for granted.)

The good clean earth, the air we breathe,
the food we eat, where we live, clothes, and
many more. There are many people who don't
have food to eat, or a bed, or warm place to stay
in the winter. We need to remember that whatever
we have, no matter how little or much, we should be
thankful. (I am sure you can think of many other things
to put here.

HERE IS A POEM THAT GOES ALONG WITH THIS:

THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE FREE

When we count
our many blessings,
It isn't hard to see
that life's most valued
treasures are the
treasures that are free.

For it isn't what
we own or buy
that signifies
our wealth.

It's the special
gifts that have
no price:
our family,
friends and health.

HERE IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE VERSES

"Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts
with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name."
Psalms 100:4

Now let's sing another song...

HE HAS MADE ME GLAD

I will enter His gates
With thanksgiving in my heart.
I will enter His courts with praise.
I will say this is the day
That the Lord has made.
I will rejoice for He has made me glad.

He has made me glad.
He has made me glad.
I will rejoice,
For He has made me glad.

"I will bless the Lord at all times...His praise shall continually
be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the
humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the Lord with me
and let us exalt His name together. I sought the Lord, and He
heard me, and delivered me from all my fear."
Psalms 34:1-4

Let's sing one more time.
I WILL BLESS THEE, O LORD

With my hands lifted up,
and my mouth filled with praise,
With a heart of thanksgiving,
I will bless Thee O Lord.

I will bless Thee O Lord,
I will bless Thee O Lord.
With a heart of thanksgiving
I will bless Thee O Lord.

"I will bless Thee, my God, O King, and I will bless thy name forever
and ever. Every day will I bless Thee; and I will praise Thy name
forever and ever. Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praise; and
his greatness is unsearchable."
Psalms 145: 1-3

We have so much for which to be thankful. But the greastest gift that
we need to thank the Lord for is Jesus Christ, His Son.

"For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten son that
whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life."
John 3:16

Thank you Lord. Thank you Jesus for dying on the cross for our
sins! Hallelujah!!!!
