Who are the Jaycees and what do they do?
Young men and women ages 21 through 40 are eligible to be Jaycees. Membership provides leadership training opportunities through the projects and programs members plan, organize and conduct in our community and in our chapter. The organization is known as either the Jaycees or the Junior Chamber.
How much time does membership require?
The average member participates about four hours per month. You are permitted to choose to give your time to the activities which YOU are most interested. However, it is reasonable to understand that the more you participate, the more opportunities you will have to grow, to learn and to help others.
How many meetings must I attend?
The Westminster Jaycees meet the first Wednesday of the month. Meetings begin at 7:30pm. Members are encouraged to attend to learn about upcoming chapter activities and events, and to socialize with other members. You are not, however, obligated to attend chapter meetings.
What are the benefits of active membership?
A Jaycee member has the opportunity to meet, network and interact with an aggressive group of young people from their community, to help conduct worthwhile projects which benefit others, and to fulfill a need for personal growth. These opportunities are the Jaycee Advantage!!
How much does membership cost?
The Westminster Jaycees annual dues are $49.00 your first year and $44.00 each year you renew your membership. This amount also provides you with membership in the Maryland Jaycees, the United States Junior Chamber of Commerce, and the Junior Chamber International. Included in your dues are also subscriptions to several Jaycee Publications.
How do I join?
Joining the Westminster Jaycees is easy! Simply request a membership application and bring it to the next membership meeting, or you may mail it with a check to: P.O.
