Our monthly outreach ministry to the Mt. Pleasant area Medical Care Facility continues the first Wednesday of each month at 3:00 PM.
Our bi-weekly Bible study program at the Laurels Retirement Home of Mt. Pleasant continues to grow both in numbers and enthusiasm. A number of the residents have requested Bishop George to provide them with a regular worship service. Effective April 9, 1999 Bishop George celebrates the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass on the First Friday of each month. These services have been well attended as well as well received.
Our House Church program continues to be available. Anyone wishing to start a worship group in your neighborhood or join an existing House Church is invited to contact the Parish Center. Services are being conducted in the English, Polish and Latin languages.
Weekly Bible study groups are currently forming at Christ Our Savior Old Catholic Parish Center in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. For more information and sign-up procedures, you are invited to call the Parish Center at (989) 772-2567.
At 3:00 PM on December 24, 1998 upon the invitation of Mr. Wallace Bronner of Bronner's Christmas Wonderland, Frankenmuth, Michigan, Bishop George officiated at a Christmas eve celebration in the Silent Night Chapel. This Chapel in Frankenmuth is a replica of the original Silent Night Chapel located in Obendorf, Austria, in which the Christmas Carol Silent Night originated and was first sung in 1818. Bishop George offered a brief Christmas homily to the attending visitors and led the singing of Silent Night in Polish, English and German. Photographs commemorating this event have been sent to Obendorf, Austria for inclusion in their Chapel memorabilia. Our thanks to Mr. Bronner, his family and staff for the kind invitation and the opportunity to participate in this beautiful annual event commemorating the birth of our Lord.
Christ Our Savior Old Catholic Parish successfully concluded the Second Annual Dozynki Festival on August 5, 2000. Music was provided by The PolkaTowners Chapter II and Eddie Biegaj and Crusade. Festival participants enjoyed fine food, dancing on a 1000 sq. ft. wooden dance floor and great fellowship. This festival serves as an annual fundraiser for Church building improvement. Plans are under way for the Third Annual Festival to take place in August of 2001.
