Who Is Driving Your Car?

Imagine yourself driving in a car. There are 2 people in the car: a driver and one passenger. The driver is the flesh side of you and the passenger is the spirit side of you.Your flesh is in control of everywhere you go.He controls everything. All of your destinations, all of your routes, almost everywhere you go is out of your fleshly desires.

On occasion, your spirit will reach over and grab the wheel and lead you to a new destination, but this is very rare As you travel along life's roads, you notice that the road can be quite bumpy.Oh sure, there are some nice stretches of road that are smoothly paved, and things seem to be going great. But there is always a pothole ready to jar your car out of control.

After many years of this turmoil, you decide that there has to be a better way. There has to be an easier way of life, one not full of potholes and rough pavement. Thankfully, there is a way. Jesus is that way; the only way. So you finally give your life to Christ. Now things are going to get better. Well, the car is stopped and your flesh and spirit change places. Your spirit is now the driver and the flesh is now the passenger. As you're driving along, you look in the rear view mirror and notice that you have picked up a passenger in the back seat along the way, but you don't remember where. So you turn around and look at Him.

You instantly recognize him, it is Jesus. He smiles at you the way that only He can. You ask Him "When did you get here?" He replies, "Oh, I have always been with you, you just didn't know it."

Now as you drive along in life, the road is somewhat smoother, but it is still not what you expected. There are still lots of potholes, and with Flesh over there antagonizing you and trying to be a back seat driver, you just don't seem to be going anywhere except down the wrong roads of life.

So, you finally get tired of this scenario too. Your spirit can't seem to make the road easier, and with flesh driving, it was even worse.

Hey", you think to yourself, "Maybe Jesus can make the road easier". So you turn around and ask Jesus if he would like to drive for a while. He smiles at you and joyfully says "I thought you would never ask!" Now things are where they should be, with Jesus at the wheel, your spirit in the front seat, and with your flesh in the back seat.

How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and get understanding rather to be chosen than silver.
