*You can use the attached rose and frame pics or you may choose to use your own.
*Before you begin if you have not worked with the clone tool, please take a few minutes to read through the instructions.
*Hint* If your clone tool will not operate or work for you, while clicking on your graphic, hold down shift and your right mouse button at the same time. This should activate the tool if it gets a tad bit stubborn.
*Hint 2* You must be working in 16million(24bit) colors.. so if
your tool will not operate..go to Colors\IncreaseColorDepth\then choose 16million(24bit).

Step 1 - Bring up the frame you are going to be using AND graphic.
Working with your frame. choose your magic wand and click in the blank area inside the frame. Your marching ants should be running inside of the frame.

Step 2 - Now we are going to work with the graphic. Select the Clone Brush Tool from the Tool Palette. It is located above the color replacer and below the paint brush. (if you run your cursor over the tool palette text will come up telling you what the tool is, as you move over the palette)

Clone Brush Settings

You will now need to work with the options in your Tool Options Window. If it is not open go to view\toolbars\ then check TOOL OPTIONS WINDOW.

Try the settings below for your Clone options. (You may want to change them to suit the graphic that you have chosen)

Shape: Round,
Size: 30,
Hardness: 90,
Opacity: 100,

experiment with this a wee bit. None is always a good choice if your

For your cursors in the Tool Options Window
Everything should be checked except use precise cursors

Step 3 -

Using the Clone Brush we are now going to put your graphic (rose pic if you used it) inside of the frame.
Please use your rulers at this point. If they are not already
activated.. Go to view and click on rulers. You should now see rulers
around both your frame pic and your graphic.

Step 4 -

Using your rulers for guidelines.. RIGHT click around 175 width - 100 height.
Go to your frame pic (Again using your rulers for a guide> 175
width - 175 height. Now LEFT click and HOLD DOWN your mouse button..
Move your cursor up and down. You will now begin to see your graphic
appearing. Continue moving your cursor in different directions -
until your graphic is inside of the frame. (If you want to add
additional roses/vining then repeat the cloning process..Beginning at
Step 4 ) OR if you are not happy with your cloning.. click edit\undo
then repeat. If you have the effect you want.. Selection\Select None.

*NOTE* If you are happy with how your picture looks you can stop here.
If you would like to add a background inside the frame..continue on..

ADDING A BACKGROUND INSIDE OF YOUR FRAME
With your magic wand select the area outside of the graphic : inside of the frame. Marching Ants are now on the run! Now select your clone tool.
I used these settings..
Shape: Round,
Size: 40,
Hardness: 80,
Opacity: 18,
Step: 2,
Density: 100.

Now RIGHT click on your graphic.
Pick any spot inside of the marching ants to begin and LEFT click.
*(Don't forget to hold down your left mouse button)
*(You may want to release your left hold on the mouse and begin in different spots to get the effect you would like for the background)
Select None and - Wala!!!! Your Done!

*NOTE* I used an inner bevel (set on preset groove) on the graphic (example2) at this point to outline with. You might want to try this or buttonize., or just leave as is.
