| Thank you for visiting my family tree. The family lines I am now researching include Gist; Lauver; Reed; and Manning; Kelly (Kelley); O'Neill (O'Neil); Thompson. My Great-Grandfather, Joseph Thompson Gist, conducted what he was able to perform regarding the family history as early as 1893 according to letters of his that I now have. My Grandfather, Walter Gist Sr., carried on his efforts, although Grandpa passed away long before I came along. So I must give thanks to them for passing on to me their burning interest in our past. | 2 John (White County) Gist b: about 1757 in Virginia and d: 1880 in Monroe County, Kentucky. He married Hannah Geron b: about 1765 |
| 3 Hiram (Guess) Gist b:1800 in Tennessee d: unknown but 1860 cencus shows Blue Township, Jackson County, Missouri. He married Sarah Martin b: 1806 in Lauderdale County, Alabama. They were married in about 1827 in Franklin County, Tennessee. |
| 4 Thomas Gist, b: March 8, 1829 in Cooper County, Missouri and d: July 13, 1898 in Manhattan, Kansas. He married Rebecca J. Gist, born on August 2, 1829 in Gernsey County, Ohio and died in 1921 in Manhattan, Kansas. |
