About me...
Well, my life is not "that" interesting, but here it is in a nutshell.
I was born in Springfield, Mass. in 1963. Spent better than 30 years in the city. A product of the local school system (both public & private). Unfortunately, none of the schools that I attended are still in operation. For those that know Springfield, they were Armory Street School, Sacred Heart School, and Technical High School. Part of Tech's building is still standing, but the others are long gone.
After high school, I opted to join the Air National Guard. I found a full-time job, met my wife, and traveled to some nice places with the Guard. One of these is Tucson, AZ. My wife & I fell in love with the desert, and hope to move to Arizona when we retire.
In 1995, Brenda & I got married. We're still married, and she say's that I'm obligated for 50 years (she say's it was in the "fine" print). I say "No problem!"
In 2004, after 21 years in the Guard, I decided that I had enough of the military, and "retired". It's not a real retirement, because they don't pay until I reach 60 (but that's another story).
Time to start another career. The one thing in life (other than Brenda) that I truly love, is music. Seeing that I can't play any instruments, or sing that great (no American Idol here), I decided that broadcasting was the way to go. August 2004, I graduated from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting, and began looking for work. In November 2004, I was hired part-time by WMAS-FM in Springfield. What a great job!! But, it's only part-time, and I need to pay the bills.
2005 brought a new opportunity, the US Postal Service. This was probably the worst disaster of my life. For the first time, I actually couldn't stand my job (or maybe it was the bosses). Either way, that only lasted 10 weeks. Long hours, and terrible work schedule, Yech!!
Now it brings us to June 2005. After some soul searching, I realized that the best job I had was in the Air National Guard. It's where I felt the most "at home". So, I'm now in the middle of "un-retiring". I figure, if Michael Jordan can do it, why not me?
Now if you're looking for some of my interests, there are a lot, but I'll just list a few. Many of these are located on my links page, but here goes...
Number one, I love hockey. Not playing, but watching. The Boston Bruins are my favorite.
NASCAR is another love. I need something to help pass the time between hockey seasons. Here, it's the #20 Home Depot Car & Tony Stewart.
Charities, there are two that I try to support as much as possible. The American Red Cross, and the Brain Aneurism Foundation. Both of these are great organizations. The Red Cross I support by giving blood. This is something that you can do, that makes you feel good, and doesn't cost anything except your time.
The Brain Aneurism Foundation is a cause that's near and dear to my heart. I've known a few people that have been affected by aneurisms. It's a tragedy that strikes without much of a warning, and can affect the rich or poor, healthy or sick, and has no regard for race, sex, or other factor. When it strikes, it can be deadly. Whether it's deadly or not, it's very devastating, both to the individual, and to their family.
When I'm not watching TV, I love to listen to my music, and I listen to all kinds of music. Pop, rock, jazz, classical, rap, you name it, I listen.
Well, that's it for now. I'll try to keep this thing updated as changes happen.
