This is a fantastic website - the music is a really good idea - very appropriate. I have been reading LM Mongomery books since I was about 8 when my grandmother lent me some that were my mother's when she was a girl. By the time I was 12, I owned (and had read) every LM Montgomery book that was available in Australia. My mother used to joke that I wanted to be an orphan so I could be just like Anne in every way, but with short brown hair, I think I'll stick to just wanting to be a writer! Another family jo e was that my mother and her siblings were all named after characters in LM Montgomery books. While I am sure that Grandma didn't mean to, check out the names: Hugh (from A Tangled Web) Anne (obvious!) Pat (Pat of Silver Bush) Chris (this is the only one that I can't find anywhere) Susan - my mother (Anne's housekeeper from Anne's House of Dreams onwards) Rosemary (married the minister, Mr Meredith in Rainbow Valley) I still read bits and pieces of the books, particularly when I am down - they are like a comforter. I saw the two movies Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea when i was very young. I couldn't even remember the names of the movies untill my mom showed me this web site. This book spans across continents and cultures. Even as a 26-year old Island girl of Hawaii, Anne of Green Gables has endured as my most beloved story and video collection. How utterly delighted I was to discover "Anne--The continuing story..." on PBS a f w weeks ago (I didn't even realize what I was watching for a few minutes). I jumped for joy when I saw Gilbert Blythe walking alongside a familiar red-headed woman! It almost seemed as though the characters came back to perform just to ease my longing to now what became of Green Gables! How many years I have played out the "continuing story" in my mind! Gilbert and Anne finally marry! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to watch the ending. I'm on line right now trying to purchase the "Continuing..." video. Than you for your website. Hoping , wishing , praying that maybe tomorrow a Mathew Cupfor would meet me at the bus station and take me passed the lake of shining waters , passed the Avenue that should be called White Wave Delight, to Green Gables. Then I would tell Katie (my reflection in the window)that tomorrow we would have a family , a re l life . I can recall sneaking up late just to read a chapter of Anne Of Green Gables. It took me to that place in my dreams, and somhow provided an escape into my imagination whare I was allowed for just a moment to be Anne Shirly. The novels prepared me for what the future held for me. Thankyou Anne, Mathew, Merilla, Gillbert, Dianna, Thankyou ,Thankyou, Thankyou for the support ,adventure, romance, that since of encoragment and the bennifits of forgivness . There is light at the end of every dark tunnle. Its a long road of hopes, but if you continue hoping,and believing your true innerself will shine , and that makes you beutiful and intresting more then you could ever imagin.
