The Lyons-Muir Church Vision

The Lyons-Muir Church is a Christian family, formed in response to God's Love and grace in Jesus Christ, striving to model Christ's love through a collective ministry of listening, sharing, teaching, praying, caring, and rejoicing in the lord.
We seek to extend God's Love to our Community, offering help to those in need and providing an accepting atmosphere to all.

The first meeting on the Future Directions Planning Committee was held on May 3, 1991. The  meeting led to a year long visioning process that involved a lot of self-examination, group interaction, and discussion.  The outcome of this work was our vision statement, which we continue to use to help guide our decisions.
This visioning process also helped us to identify the strengths and weaknesses of our church and set specific goals for our future.  The overwhelming problem identified was a lack of space and adequate facilities to make our ministry vision a reality for the future.  A Building and Facility Study Committee was formed to investigate local demographics, church facility needs, and costs involved.  The recommendation from this group, which was supported by our congregation, was to sell one on the buildings and worship in the remaining building while building a new facility.
