DAY 1: Life Begins:

We announced the arrival of Claire Emily Haldeman on 6/6/99.  Born at 10:21am.

Claire Emily Haldeman - 1 Hour Old

After a greuling all-night labor (with an ineffective epideural), mom was able to bring forth this wonderful 8lb, 3oz, 21 inch baby.  She was wondrous sight to behold, and already has brought much joy to her family.  Here are her first-day pictures:

Note: The crying makes the baby's blood get "super-oxygenated" and thus appear quite red.  The baby was fine and soon calmed down soon after getting cleaned up.
