July 21, 2008 Minutes

Roll Call: All elected township officials were in attendance.  

Motion by Hart, second by Peak to approve the minutes of June 16, 2008. All voted aye.

Correspondence:

1.      State Fair information was exchanged

Old Business: none

A series of motions pertaining to salaries and benefits beginning in 2009 for the next elected officials is as follows:

1. Motion by Peak, second by Shumaker to pay the Supervisor a $1000 for being Treasurer of the Road District Funds-----thereby increasing the Supervisor’s salary to $11,000.

2.      Motion by Peak, second by Shumaker, to make the Road Commissioner’s position full time with a salary of $40,000. The salary would be paid out of line items mutually agreed upon by the Supervisor and Road Commissioner. The position would not be eligible for insurance benefits. IMRF benefit to be determined in the near future.

3.      Motion Peak, second by Feger to create the following vacation schedule for full time elected officials:

2-5 year of service     2 weeks

5-10 years of service 3 weeks

10-15 years                 4 weeks

15+ years                    5 weeks

Officials would not be allowed to roll over weeks from year to year.

4.      Motion by Feger, second by Hart to increase the Clerk’s salary from $4500 to $5500 with no insurance or IMRF benefits in the salary package.

5.      Motion by Feger, second by Peak to pay the Assessor’s Office $30,000 plus the IMRF and the Insurance benefit extended to that office. This would be an increase of $3000 in salary.

6.      Motion by Hart, second by Shumaker to pay Trustees $100 per meeting. (an increase of $25 per meeting)

1. There was a successful hearing pertaining to the construction of the Salt Dome. And Dan Parr will be laying out the project in the near future.

1. Site preparation for a new trade school on High Point Road.
2. Site preparation on Veterans’ Drive on-going.
