The society had grown enough by 1998 to allow a more formal organization and the official undertaking of preservation projects.
MEETINGS
Regular meetings of the Genealogical Society are held on the second
Thursday of each month at the Historical Society House. Meetings
are from 7:00 P. M. to 9:00 P.M. Visitors are welcome and encouraged
to contact the society for details regarding upcoming meetings. Annual
membership dues are $10 for an individual and $12 for a family. Membership
is renewed each January. Make checks payable to: Treasurer,
Genealogical Society of Isabella County and mail your application
to: Genealogical Society of Isabella County 523 North Fancher, Mt. Pleasant,
MI 48858.

Any person interested in genealogy, history, or biography, either amateur
or professional may become a member of the Society.
To preserve and make available for genealogical research the records of our members.
To encourage and assist the study of family history; to promote the exchange of knowledge and to encourage the deposit of genealogical records.
To cooperate with other societies and assist the area libraries in expanding
and publicizing their genealogical holdings.
We are currently working with Turner Publishing and assembling an Isabella County Family History book. The first collection of biographies will be from February through April of 2002. There is NO CHARGE to place your families history in this book. Contact us for further information or check back to this site when I get the form online.
