About Patchkat

I "come from a long line" as my Mom always likes to point out. My Great-Grandmother Fulton was a frugal scrap quilter, my Grandmother did some embroidery work and quilting, my Mom was a wonderful quilter. She set me to quilting at the age of twelve...then education, adulthood, marriage, family, divorce, and work took over. Quilting fell by the wayside as I was consumed with these new goals in my life.

My love of quilting was rekindled after a second marriage when I became a semi-stay at home Mom to 4 very active children and 5 equally active cats! Counted cross stitch became another passion followed by crochet and tole painting.

I have lived in 3 Middle Eastern countries, Europe, and visited Taiwan. I travel with 5 cats and about 300 lbs of quilt cottons, batting and books! My work is mostly by hand and very portable, entailing nothing more than scissors, thimble, thread, and my current project tucked into a freezer bag.

Neves Country Collectibles was established in the late 1980's and has been renamed since our retirement. You'll now find us as Patchkat's Bayou Blossom Creations. My sales are currently limited to local craft fairs, special orders and occassionally, eBay http://members.ebay.com/aboutme/patchkat/ .

I'm very committed to working with the SunshineGuild. Sunshine has been supplying baby, toddler and twin sized quilts for the Rotarian cleft palate surgery program (Wrap-A-Smile) and Wrap Them in Love (WTIL). These quilts are shipped to wherever there is a need for quilts in times of duress.

TheQuiltingPost supports Mission of Hope (MOH)which sends quilts to battered women/children's shelters across the USA.

I'm pleased to say that there are 3 generations of quilters in our family. Myself, daughters Christy and Stacie, plus two granddaughters Alex and Cassie (both teenagers and more into sports and boys than quilting at the moment)! Check out the photo album to meet them all.
