We are Cadette Troop 403. We first began patch trading in Jan., 2000. We have traded with several wonderful Girl Scouts and Girl Guides from all over the world. We began trading patches for a service project for our Service Unit. We wanted to make a display that could be used at parent information nights, troop meetings and any place else in the community to show what Girl Scouts do. We began by getting donations of extra patches from our Service Unit and Council . We thought it would take months to gather enough patches to make a nice display. Well in just 3 weeks we had enough for 4 displays! We separated them into 4 categories. The first was about Girl Scouting. Then, one about Girl Scout history. On this display we will put all the older patches. Next we are working on a fabric world map where we will put out of state and country patches. Finally we made a camping display. We still have several blank spots on our displays and would love to continue trading. Below you will find a list of what we have to trade. Note for Girl Scouts in our area:
We will be working on a fundraiser involving patch collecting and trading. We have no funds available to us right now and have relied on the generosity of our parents for the initial cost of postage and supplies. Come visit our booth at Thinking Day to see what we will be doing. Donations to this project are always welcome. We are in need of patches, badges, insignia , paper, envelopes and stamps. If our fundraisers work out we hope be able to continue this project and maybe even expand it.
