Logging into Filemanager and Creating a Blank HTML Page

This lesson will teach you how to create a blank page in GeoCities.

We will create this site using Advanced HTML located in your filemanager.  Although I state "Advanced HTML", we will be doing the basics HTML codes.

For this lesson log into your filemanager.  If you have just created a new Homestead your password will be located in the email address you gave when you first signed up for GeoCities.  If you have lost your password, please use the password utility to look up your password.

By now you should be logged into your filemanager and ready to start learning HTML.

If you scroll down a bit you will see a button that says "Create new HTML file".  Make sure your editor is Advanced HTML Editor and click on "Create new HTML File".

This will bring up a blank HTML Page for using HTML code.  Your cursor should automatically be pointed in the "Filename" box.  If not, please point your cursor there and for this lesson type in lesson.html and move your cursor to the big box below it. This is where we will but the actual code for your new HTML Page.

Now take a deep breath and lets begin our journy into the wonderful world of HTML which stands for Hyper Text Markup Language.  Lets proceed to Lesson 3.
