THE FAMILY OF ELIZABETH AND THOMAS KING

 

 

            THOMAS KING,  son of Elizabeth (Burrows\Burroughs) [daughter of George Burroughs?] died in June, 1836 in Coffee County, Tennessee.  His will is dated June 8, 1836 and names his wife Elizabeth and his children.

 

Children of Elizabeth and Thomas King:

 

1. Richard S. King

 

2. John Turner King, 1 January 1793 in North Carolina, died 3 December 1876, and is buried in Sacul Cemetery in Sacul, Nacogdoches County, Texas; married 1st Martha E. Whitaker ca. 1814; married 2nd Mrs. Caroline V. Johnson Tucker, widow of Britton J. Tucker, and daughter of Mary and Hezekiah Johnson,  on 5 October 1865 in Nacogdoches County, Texas. He is listed in the 1854 School Census of Nacogdoches County, Texas.  He is also found in the 1861 and 1862 Tax list of the County.  John is found in both the 1860 and 1870 Census of Nacogdoches County, Texas.

4. Hannah King, who married William Partin. born ca. 1793 in Tennessee; she is mentioned in the will of her father as the wife of William Partin.

6. Thomas King, Jr.

 

7. Davis (David) King, born ca. 1800 in Georgia (North Carolina).  He died 23 January 1861; married Mary "Polly" Sartin, daughter of James Sartin.  He is found listed in the 1840 and 1849, Tax lists of Nacogdoches County, Texas; and on the 1846 Pol List of the same County.  He is listed on the 1847 Census of Nacogdoches County, Texas.  He held Headright #522; and his Old Certificate #351 was issues 31 December 1839 in Sabine County, Texas.  Davis was a merchant, and a devout Presbyterian.

 

8. Anderson King

 

9. Elizabeth Beatrice King, born 29 December 1811 in Tennessee and died 26 August 1889 in Nacogdoches County, Texas.  She is buried in the Old North Church Cemetery in Nacogdoches County, Texas.  Elizabeth married ca. 1833 in Tennessee to Mr. David Burrows, son of Elizabeth and Anthony Burrows, who was born 27 October 1810 in Grundy County, Tennessee and died 5 October 1810 in Nacogdoches County, Texas.

 

10. Mary King, who married _______ Neville.

 

11. Tyler King.

 

            Elizabeth King, wife of Thomas King died sometime after 1836 in Tennessee possibly Coffee or Grundy County, Tennessee.
