Page Toppers are a wonderful way to embellish any page! They are a creative way to title a page without clutttering up your work and overshadowing the main focus of any scrapbook page...your pictures! These particular page toppers were created by my very talented friend Stephanie. She is a wiz at using paper punches and rubber stamps to create amazing designs!
Page toppers are fairly simple to create. The basic design is simply different sized rectangular cuts of coordinated colored cardstock, layered on top of one another (largest on bottom). After you have secured them together with the adhesive of your choice you either use rubber stamps, stickers or your own handwriting to add your page title. Remember, it doesn't matter if the letters are overlapping or not evenly spaced.... perfection is not necessary!
The fun part is the embellishment of the topper! Here Steph has used her punches to create adorable strawberries, flowers and even an elephant!!! (Go to my PUNCHING IDEAS PAGE for more info!) You can also use stickers and other die cuts to enhance your toppers. And if you get an idea for a great piece of punch art or sticker art, make your topper in advance and save it until you actually have a page to put it on! It never hurts to think ahead, so use your ideas before you lose them! |
