Came across your site whilst looking in the Doig family site. My mother had cousins at Broughty Ferry by the name of Doig. I was very young the last time I saw them and can only remember one name and that was Jean. Are you related to the Doigs? Jean Cure

Nearly two years after you contacted me in connection with the Hetherington Society and the Border Reivers, I have taken your invitation to visit your own website. Sorry for the delay! Very good - I wish I had the time/patience/enthusiasm to sort out my
own research interests so professionally. Best wishes, Geoff Hetherington, Chairman, the Hetherington Society.

Very interesting. I went to uni with Hamish Munro from Scone who was the brother of Angus. I suppose you are related.
In regard to Hackett, an ancestor of mine, Thomas Hackett, convict from Ireland married a Sarah Day also from Ireland on 31 January 1839. They lived at Pitt Town near Windsor. Thomas was convicted on 18 April 1835 fro rape. at Co Waterford.
Any relation?

Some spellings of eg Abertillery incorrect!
Also Monmouthshire is in Wales although the LDS would have otherwise. To be fair it has moved back and forth, but residents there have always considered it to be Wales, especially the parts nearest to Glamorgan and Breconshire.

I am activeley researching to find my grandfather Joseph Henry Ripleys brother William Edward Keillor Ripley, born in 1866 in Nappan Station, NS.There were also 2 sisters Annie and Mary. Annie was the eldest born in 1861 and marry probably around 1872.His
parents were Thomasen Lowther and William Ripley, a house painter from Amherst. The original ripleys came from Ingelby Greenhough in Yorkshire in 1772. The Keillors may have come around the same time. The name Keillor has been used several times in the ea
ly family.Any info would be appreciated. NL.

Very impressed with your research and website of considerable interest.
Amazing how you found the time! I was born in Ceylon (now Sri Lanka)and
am a great-grandson of George Rawdin (birth date c.1852 but place unknown,
either England, Ireland or France - from family folklore). He married Eugenie
Loret in Galle, Ceylon. I also know Henry Rawdon married Clara Wilhelmina
Vanderstaaten in September 1854(1855?)in Colombo. Do you kmow of any Rawdin
or Rawdon going to India or Ceylon?
