A Memorial For Those We Lost

Hello my friends, I hate to be somber and sad but since that black tuesday, the 11th of September, a great many things have been on my mind, I remember those who have died and I cry for them and the lost feelings of innocence and security we all use to have and I appreciate my life more and I appreciate my children more. I recieved this from a friend a while back and I sent it out to all of you as you may remember but it makes a perfect memorial...I hope you agree with me.

Blessed Ones,

The media keeps showing us images of the destruction of the World Trade Center. I am choosing to remember it the way it was. We took midnight strolls along its waterfront and felt perfectly safe. We dreamed about the yachts moored along its harbor . We listened to blues and jazz and gospel and classical music in its plaza. We gathered sprigs of lavender growing among the bushes that lined its borders. We bought half-price tickets to Broadway shows in its lobby. We shopped at the many stores that bustled in the mall beneath its towers. We sat next to it as we met for lunch, fell in love, gazed at the Jersey shore, and watched boats speed up and down the river. We did all this and more in the shadow of buildings we didn't how much we loved...until now. That's what I want to keep in mind right now. Won't you join me?

Sharing the same sky,

One last thought...she says that we used to pick lavender from amoung the bushes there, if all of you will go out to your local nursery and buy a packet of seeds and scatter them in the beautiful places you see every day, maybe we can remember the dead by giving life in their names and if you're asked what you're doing, tell them that the lavender used to grow there and you're making you're own memorial...and then share your seeds with them so they can too.
