Now, I can say I am a Joyful Mother! I enjoy sharing the story of our sons adoption. To make a looong story a bit shorter, after nine years of infertility, my husband Eric and I decided that we were ready to adopt. After a lot of research we decided to do a domestic adoption through our state's foster parenting system.

In May of 1996, after about 14 mos of training, writing our homestudy going to many committees, and a lot of prayer, we received the call that we had been chosen for Jimmy (then age 17 mos). We had a blissful summer...everything seemed new and fresh. We fell deeply in love.

Then in September of 1996 (just 3-1/2 mos later) we received the call that Jimmy's birthmom had given birth again. We didn't even know if the baby was a boy or girl but we were thrilled with the opportunity to have a birth sibling for Jimmy. It turned out that the baby was our beautiful Jeremy.
