ARE YOU SEEKING SOMETHING BUT DON'T KNOW WHAT?

So were we...

Like many others, we tried to find lasting joy and peace in careers, possessions and relationships, but nothing seemed to fit the ticket - nothing seemed to satisfy...except the truth. What is truth? If you really want to know, please read on....

INTRODUCING OUR CREATOR

God is the Creator of All Things

Genesis 1:2,27&28, " In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth... And God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them...."

God is Holy and Without Any Taint of Evil

1 John 1:5, "And this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all."

God is also Loving

1 John 4:8&9, ".... for God is love. By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him."

MANKIND'S PROBLEM

Mankind has a problem that must be dealt with

Romans 14:12, "So then each one of us shall give account of himself to God.

Because He is our Creator, we must answer to Him for the life that He has given us.

But that account will be found wanting!

Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (of God's standards)."

Romans 3:11&18, "There is none who understands, there is none who seeks for God... there is no fear of God before their eyes."

Sin can be defined as living life in offensive independence from God, which produces various evil thoughts, acts and behaviors (such as lying, jealousy, stealing, etc).

THE CONSEQUENCES OF SIN

Everyone must give an account to their Creator. The Bible says that we all have sinned, and that the consequences of that sin is death - both physical death and eternal separation from God (eternal death).

Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Hebrews 9:22b, ".... without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness (of sin)."

Our sin earns us death, but God Himself is willing to give us the free gift of eternal life. HOW DO WE GET THIS GIFT?

MAN'S ATTEMPTS TO ACQUIRE ETERNAL LIFE

Throughout the ages, man has frequently attempted to find his own way to eternal life or to buy or earn this gift from God, either through good works, religion, or trying to live a moral life.

Proverbs 14:12, "There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death."

Every attempt to reach God or find eternal life outside of God's Appointed Way will always fail. Why?

Isaiah 59:2, "But your sins have separated you from God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear."

Man's efforts don't remove the effects of sin. Only God's Appointed Way of Salvation can do that.

So what is that way?

GOD'S APPOINTED REMEDY FOR OUR SIN AND THE WAY

TO ETERNAL LIFE

We can get God's gift of eternal life only by following God's Remedy for the problem of our sins.

Romans 5:8, "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died FOR us."

1 Peter 2:24, "and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness, for by His wounds you were healed."

The penalty for our sins is death, but Christ died in our place and paid our penalty so that we could live forever with God. Sin no longer has to separate us from God.

How do we go about acquiring this gift in our lives?

HOW DO WE ACQUIRE GOD'S GIFT OF FORGIVENESS

AND ETERNAL LIFE IN CHRIST?

No gift is any good unless it is actually acquired! God has offered us eternal life and forgiveness of sins through the death of Jesus Christ, but how do we actually apply this to our lives?

John 1:12, "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name."

We must receive and believe in Jesus Christ, that He was God the Son come down to earth to save us from our sins. To be even more specific:

1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Romans 10:9, "... if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved..."

In order for your sins to be forgiven and to receive Christ, you need to:

1. Confess your sins to God and be willing to turn from your sinful way of life (the bible calls this repentance).

2. Believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the Cross and rose from the grave in fulfillment of the Scriptures (the Bible Prophecies).

3. In prayer, invite Jesus Christ to come into your life and be your Lord and Savior.

WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH GOD'S GIFT OF FORGIVENESS AND ETERNAL LIFE?

Will you believe in Jesus Christ and receive forgiveness

and eternal life?

WILL YOU RECEIVE CHRIST TODAY?

THE NEXT STEPS IN YOUR SPIRITUAL LIFE

God's number one goal for you life now is that you grow ever closer in your relationship with Him, and that your character become more and more like Christ's. Here's how He wants you to do it!

1. Spend time with God - talking to Him (a.k.a. prayer) every chance that you get, for as long as you can every time. Much prayer leads to much blessing. Little prayer will lead to little blessing and no prayer will result in no blessing! So be blessed - pray a lot!

2. Read God's Word - The Bible. It is now your Instruction Manual for the Christian life. It contains all of the facts and wisdom that God felt you would need to grow spiritually, and to be able to live a life pleasing to Him. So study it, read it often and memorize as much of it as you can. This is a life long process, so don't be impatient, just keep plugging away!

3. Spend time with God's people - other Christians. You need to be around other believers. God has given them (and you) special spiritual gifts and abilities for the very purpose of helping one another to grow spiritually. Without their contribution you cannot grow the way God intends. And without your contribution, neither can they! So find and join a local church right away!

4. Tell others about Christ and what He did for you. You have been given the most precious gift of all - so share it! Tell everyone you know of your new life in Christ...we would love to hear about it too! God's design is that His children will share the good news with the whole world. Don't be overwhelmed - just start sharing with the people that you know!

5. Be baptized as a testimony to all that you have been born again. This is a step of obedience that every child of God should take after being born again.
