Lacey Knit Blanket
Any weight yarn will work, though I use sport weight. #9 knitting needles
Cast on VERY LOOSELY either 108 or 74 sts depending on width you'd like. 108 is approx. 25" wide.
Cast on 108 sts and knit across
Row 1: knit across loosely
Row 2: Slip first stitch as if doing knit stitch. Knit 2. These first 3 stitches will be your border. Always slip the first stitch and knit the next two.
Pattern: (k2tog, k6, yo, k1, yo, k6, k2 tog) Place marker and continue (k2tog, k6, yo, k1, yo, k6, k2tog) Place marker and repeat this pattern until the last 3 sts. Knit the last 3 sts.
Row 3: slip 1st stitch and k2. Then purl across. Knit last 3 sts.
Repeat rows 2 and 3 to desired length and bind off loosely.
Once you get the hang of the pattern it moves very quickly. It's very lacy and delicate.
I use sport weight yarn, #9 needles.
85 sts = 18" wide blanket. For a wider blanket, cast on more stitches, ALWAYS making sure you cast on an ODD number of sts.
