11/20/98 Searching for Fabian Armbruster of Waterloo, Monroe Co., Ill and St. Mary's,St. Genevieve Co. Mo. He was a tailor by trade. He had a sister named Eva. I cannot find entry into this country for either. He reportedly deserted the German Army about 1850. I presume he must have entered this country illegally- possibly aboard the cotton boats, via New Orleans and up the Mississippi River and settled just south of S. Louis. He married Agnes Burkle, 5 Oct 1854 in Waterloo, Monroe Co., Ill. They had one son, Valentine, born 1856. Agnes, apparently died, probably in childbirth. Valentine was living with Agnes' brother. Fabian then married Mary Jane Robinson of St. Genevieve Co., Mo. on 25 June 1858. They had one daughter Mary Laura, born 18 March 1858 (not a mistake in birth month). She reportedly was baptized in the Catholic Church in St. Mary's, St. Genevieve Co., Mo.(?) Fabian left during the Civil War to find work and did not return. Mary Jane presumed him dead and married another German, John Myers (date unknown).They had one daughter, Josephine, born 1868 and subsequently, moved downriver to New Madrid Co., Mo. Family tradition states that Fabian returned sometime later to his brother-in-law's home searching for Valentine. They hid him (Valentine) and told Fabian that he had died. Valentine was later bound out to a doctor in Peducah, Ky. and, as an adult,established residence in Hickman Co. Ky as a blacksmith. Fabian moved on and we are still searching for him. Does any of this sound familiar to anyone??? Has anyone come across the name Fabian in their research??? Valentine and his descendants are still living in Hickman Co., Ky. 3/9/99looking for the parents of Lorenz ARMBRUSTER born about 1819,he married Celeste Miller in St Louis in 1849 he had a sonLenhardt about 1849 or 1850. Celeste Died in early 1850. Update 4/30/99 She has been found.4/13/1999I am looking for my biological mother and father and brother. The story goes: JEANNINE ARMBRUST/ARMBRUSTER came from Toledo, Oh to Valdosta, Ga. in the early 1950's her father was sent to open a new division from the home office of Toledo, Oh. Owens-Illinosis Plant they lived on Walnut St. in Valdosta, Ga. She was in the process of getting a divorce and felt she couldn't raise 2 kids of her own. I even obtained a phone book that had her listed in '58. After that I lost her. They returned to Ohio where her dad went back to the home office. My biological father was stationed at Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, Ga. I also found his name in the 1958 phone book listed as Sgt. JOS W. ARMBRUSTER. I don't know if this was her husband or a relationship, to a one night stand. I honestly think that she dropped the 'er' from her name as she went in the hospital. I am in need of medical information as I was diagnosised with an rare gene disease that is incurable and before they start treatment I have to have medical info. I was born on Aug. 14, 1956 in Valdosta, Ga.I have been bedridden for the past 3 yrs and this year thanks to the power of God, I am able to get up and move around. I haven't the money to hire anyone so I am trying to do this myself. This is a very unusual name and I was hoping I wouldn't have so much trouble finding it. Now it has turned to the critical note and my 6yr old granddaughter has been diagnosised with this also and now they require medical information that I don't have. 10/08/1999I am looking for any information on Frederick George Armbruster, born in the late 1890's or early 1900 in the Chicago area. His family were tin-smiths, I have a picture of the "Armbruster" Tin shop in Chicago.
