My great grandmother was Caroline ZEIGLER sometimes SIGLER. She was
born 26 June 1857 in Tets Des Mortes Tshp, Jackson Co. Iowa. She had brothers Solomon Shomo, Otis and David. Their father was David ZEIGLER born in Penn 1818 (1850 census) His wife was Anna, a native of Switzerland born 1828. He died about 1858. The 1860 census list Anna SIGLER married to Jacob Kraus within the year. It also list the Zeigler children living with them. I have found some information on the son Solomon Shomo but nothing on Otis or the younger David. Any information or help will be appreciated.
Just can't seem to make a connection
with any of the Zeigler families out there. One problem may be that the
used various spellings of the name at different times. My grand mother on her marriage certificate gives her mothers name as Siegler and she spells it Zigler on her 2nd marriage application. The 1850 census gives it as Zeigler.Richard Brenton, cranbrook,BC
