The Unannounced Guest

If Jesus went for a walk
And stopped along the way
And He knocked upon your door
What would YOU say
Would you open the door to greet Him
With a smile and a hug so gay
Or would you scurry about-hiding things
Saying, "Could you come back another day?"
Grabbing your music tapes, your posters,
And the games you like to play
Hiding your books, your movies, some clothing,
And sending your friends out the other way
Would you have to run about
Deciding what to throw away
Or would you open the door, invite Him in,
And ask how long He'd like to stay
If Jesus was your neighbor
And came over every day
Would you present yourself differently
Would you act a different way
Would you be more loving
And thoughtful of what you say
Would you spend more time studying
Or going with your friends to "play"
Would you be nervous-wondering
If there were any sins you forgot to hide
Or could you open the door-confidently
And welcome Him inside
Would you stand there at the door
Thinking of a lie
Would you have to send Jesus away
Because there were too many sins to hide
......The moral of the story is......
You can hide your sins from the world
But Jesus can ALWAYS see inside
Just remember, for all of your sins
Jesus suffered, and bled, and died...
