My book, The Hayes Heritage Album, chronicles the history of my maternal grandfather's family starting with Henry Pennington's (my great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandfather) immigration from England to Cecil County, Maryland, as an indentured servant in 1650.

As the generations continued, the Penningtons' left Maryland and gradually continued south and west through the frontier lands of Virginia, South Carolina and Georgia.  Finally, in 1816, they reached Tennessee, where Jacob Pennington (my great-great-great-great grandfather) and his family were the first settlers in Lawrence County.

The Hayes Heritage Album continues on through the marriage of my grandparents, Clint and Lona Hayes, describing their marriage, the birth of their children, and their life together until their deaths in 1969 and 1996, respectively.
