Grandma

I would say, you stand like a great tall tree that reaches up into the heavens. With many limbs always ready to embrace the winds.

Some would say, the sun gives us warmth, not I. I say, you are warmth, the kind that can fill your heart with all the love you need to be.

They would say, you were hard. Never I, for me you were soft but strong. You had roots and you kept them.

He would say, your time has come. Never will you embrace the winds. Never say I, for your tree has planted a seed that will grow in my heart and all of mine.

Know that you are always in me. Everything you were, I could only dream to be. Know also that you will not be forgotten. For I will carry what I know of you to my children and theirs.

I will miss you and I will always keep the place in my heart you touched, arm with your love.
