Though I have never had to suffer such a loss, I cannot imagine anything that could be more painful. Dear Ed and Pat, We were just thinking about you and thought we would say HI. We also wanted to check out how the web page was working and the guestbook system on Geocities. Since they merged with Yahoo, they have made some changes to the guestbook CGI script that send the wrong reply message to a guestbook entry saying it was unable to perform the operation. This causes people to re-enter several times before they realize they have made multiple entries into the guestbook. Hope you are doing fine. We are looking forward to the TCF conference in Portland. I am so sorry Chris died. What a loss! We lost our oldest son in a single car accident in l987. We will always miss him and things will never be the same but I know they are around us more than we ever know. I belong to Compassionate Friends, Raleigh, N.C. Chapter. Life is tough but by God's Grace we will make it - one day at a time. My sister and brother-in-law committed suicide together two years ago and that is another hole. Thank God for friends in Compassionate Friends. You will always have Chris with you. With love, Rachel

I came upon your website. It is a wonderful tribute. I too know your pain as my son, Christopher, was killed in Aug, 1996 at 17 years old. Our family has the endless questions,why and what if. Dear Pat & Ed, My husband and I first met you in Houston, then again I believe, in Long Beach. I think this is a beautiful tribute to Chris, along with the wonderful things both of you have written. I usually do not view the memorial, not because of lack of interest, ut because of lack of time, but since I have you and seen Chris' photo on the boards at the conference I felt as if I know him and decided to get to know him better. In doing so it has made me think about doing one for my son Georgie, but I really have n idea how it is done. Like the glass which is both half-full and half-empty, a life tragically cut short, as Chris' life was, forces us to decide if we are to mourn the hours of joy never to be known, or rejoice in the hours spent in his company. I did not know Chris as an ad lt, but I suspect I know which choice he would have us make.

It's really nice to hear more about Chris. Though I never got to meet him, I always feel like he is part of our lives because we love Devon and it's obvious that Devon loved him so much. My impression from the things she says is that he was incredibly s ecial and the kind of big brother that every little sister wants. Another version of Erik. I'm sorry I never had the opportunity to meet him but this is a good way for me to get to know the Chris that Devon mentions so often.

I am Chris's sister, Devon. I am now 28. I graduated from Georgia Tech in 1992. In 1996, I got married to a wonderful guy, Erik Weston. I deeply regret that he never knew my big brother. Not a day goes by that I do not think about Chris. My life will never, ever be the same. I think about all the good and bad times Chris and I had growing up - we were the best of friends. I am so proud of my parents. Proud that they help so many other bereaved parents, proud that they raised me, and proud of this tribute they have created. Miss you, Chris. Love you. Devon
