The Cary Family of Lewis County KY

Do you have information on this family?

I have been trying to figure out the origins of my Great-Grandmother Diana Cary (Kary /Carey) for about 10 years now. Diana was born ca 1814 in Ohio per census records and married James Polly of Lewis County Kentucky. There is some question when this marriage occured since there is a marriage bond dated June 1, 1829 between James Polly and Anna Crawford. No wife is found with James in the 1850 census although Geroge Polly was born in 1849. No marriage record has been found for Diana and James but Diana is proven to be the mother of my Grandfather Francis Marion Polly (bn 1855). There is doubt about if she is the mother of the earlier children.

I believe Diana Cary to be the Sister of Nancy Teager, wife of Polly neighbor Lewis B. Teager.

I also note that there is an Isaac Cary who married Miranda Smith, daughter of Aquilla Smith on September 1, 1823. Isaac owned land bordering Polly land in the 1830s. Isaac's relationship to Diana Cary Polly is not clear.

There are some interesting Cary records in Fleming County Kentucky. A May 1816 record from Order Book D mentions that Isaac Cary and Wm Cary, Orphens of Wm Cary Decd chose Anthony Swim as Guardian. Both were over 14.
A record from January 1817 mentions Nancy Cary, infant orphen of Wm Cary was bound to Wm Shockley.
No Fleming County records were found mentioning Diana Cary.

Does anybody have anything on the Cary family in this area? I Would appreciate information from anybody regarding the above.

I will gladly exchange information, theories, and wild guesses about these families, their ancestors and descendents with any researcher!
