Jamie Laura Carter Memorial
CLASS OF 1981

Jamie (Laura) Carter, age 41, of 194 E. North St., Ilion, passed away unexpectedly Friday, January 28, 2005, at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester.

Jamie was the beloved daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Anthony (Donna) Angelichio of Ilion, and the late Manny Laura and Prudence Laura of Frankfort. Jamie was born April 26, 1963 in Ilion, daughter of Emanuele "Manny" and Donna (Furman) Laura. She was a graduate of Ilion High School "Class of 1981," and graduated with honors from Herkimer County Community College with an Associates Degree. At HCCC she was a member of PHI BETA KAPPA.

Jamie was employed as the office manager at Dr. Anthony Angelichio's Dental office on West St. For the past 20 years, Jamie was a dedicated and caring manager, assistant, and co-worker. She provided professional and personalized assistance to the patients, often going the extra mile to make sure everything was done to their satisfaction.

The simple things in life often meant the most to Jamie, spending time with family and friends, sharing good times and bad, and always being there for those she loved and cared about. She was a member of the Church of the Annunciation.

Survivors include her loving parents, Dr. Anthony and Donna Angelichio of Ilion; and Prudence Laura of Frankfort; her devoted brother and sister-in-law, Joseph "Joey" and Stacie Laura, and their children, AJ (Jamie's Godson) and Jake Laura, all of Chester, NY; four stepbrothers and their families, Ronald Angelichio of N. Utica, Dr. Michael and Elizabeth Angelichio, and their daughter, Emily of Maine, Michael and Diane Altamuro, and their children, Michael and Danielle, all of NJ, and Paul Altamuro of FL; her grandmothers, Grace Laura of Frankfort, and Frances Angelichio of Ilion; her aunts, uncles, cousins, many close friends, and her dear neighbors, Pat and Leo Bala. Jamie also leaves her beloved feline companion, Rusty.

She was predeceased by her father, Manny Laura, and her stepbrother, Anthony Angelichio, Jr.

Family and friends are invited to visitation Monday, January 31, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd. (between Ilion and Frankfort.) A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, February 1, commencing at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Annunciation with Father Anthony Barratt, pastor, officiating. Interment in Armory Hill Cemetery will take place this spring at a date and time to be announced.

Those wishing to do so may consider memorial contributions in Jamie's name to her favorite charities, the Herkimer Co. Food Pantry or the Herkimer Co. Humane Society.

A memorial scholarship in Jamie's memory is being established at HCCC for annual presentation to a student in the business curriculum. Donation envelopes for all intentions will be available at the funeral home.

All arrangements have been entrusted to Jamie's friends, Don Applegate and John Day of Applegate & Day Funeral Home, Ilion.
