Kobat is a very spunky and BOLD little chinchilla who seems to have no fear of anything! He loves to chew on anything and everything, including slippers, furniture, decals on jeans, handbags, books, papers, doors, baseboards, any type of wire, wall corners and so much more! His favorite treats are shreddies and raisins...he gets only one of each every night. He also likes to eat and chew on alfalfa blocks. Every night we let him have a run around our bedroom for at least a good hour. He literally "bounces" off the walls and does what we call "Happy Jumps". He's happy and loves to play when I am in the bedroom playing some good music and doing exercises....guess he loves the company. He also has a fishbowl with a special dust bath that he loves to roll around in. It keeps his fur clean.

Sadly enough, chinchillas are farmed and killed for the fur industry. The chinchilla industry proudly admits that most chinchillas are killed by neck breaking or electrocution. Many chinchilla farmers hook one clamp to the animals ear, and another to its genitalia, and then electrocute the poor creature. The chinchilla is small, and as many as 100 have to die to make a single full length fur coat. The fur trade calls this “humane”. Fur farming could never be made acceptable. I have never, nor will I ever, wear real fur. It disgusts me that anyone could do something like this to any animal.
