Samuel A. Neer, son of Jessie and Matilda Neer was born December 16, 1828,and was married to Elizabeth Miller, July 14, 1851, by William B. Johnson in Sangamon County, Illinois. Born to this union was Ann Matilda, may 12, 1852 and died September 6, 1853; Nathan Jessie born March 7, 1854 and died ....Elizabeth, first wife of Samuel A. Neer died April 2, 1854 at age 24 years and 5 months.

Elizabeth Miller Neer and Ann Matilda Neer are both buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cooper Twp. Sangamon Co. Ill.

Samuel A. Neer and Permelia Frazee, second wife, were married October 18, 1855 by William B. Johnson in Sangamon County, Illinois. Permelia Frazee Neer, daughter of Isaac and Olive Frazee was born May 27, 1838. Born to this union was Lauretta Melissa October 18, 1857 and died August 8, 1858; Joseph Almond Asbury born May 1, 1859 and died September 3, 1924 near Arkansas City, Ks. of Paralysis and was buried near Old Cleardale in the Old Cleardale Cemetery; Ida Luella November 26, 1861 in Henry County, Illinois; Lewis Edward July 30, 1863 died march 15, 1883 at Salt City Sumner County Kansas of quick consumption; Betty Ann born near Napoleon, Missouri March 16, 1866, died August 25, 1878 near Old Cleardale; Viola was born near Napoleon October 28, 1870, died December 25, 1870; Mary Virginia was born near Napoleon November 10, 1872, died March 21, 1874; Mertie Lee was born March 28, 1877 near Old Salt City, Kansas, Cowley County (is now called Geuda Springs.) John Dorsey was born June 1, 1868.

Permelia Neer, wife of S. A. Neer and daughter of Isaac and Olive Frazee died February 20, 1901 at 4:45 p.m. on the fourth day of the week, Wednesday, of Pneumonia fever, in Green County, Missouri near Willard and was buried at Flat Rock Cemetary.

Samuel A. Neer, son of Jessie and Matilda Neer died July 10, 1907 at 7:00 p.m. on the second day of the week of cholera morbus, in Sumner County, Kansas near old Cleardale, and was buried in the Old Cleardale Cemetery.

Mertie Lee Nigh daughter of S. A. and Permelia Neer and wife of Alonza Nigh died Friday, June 18, 1929 at 3:35 p.m. of pneumonia at her home in the suburbs of Indianapolis, Indiana; buried July 1, 1929 in Memorial Park Indianapolis.

Joseph Almond Asbury Neer and Maggie Gilmore were married May 21, 1881 by Judge Gans in Winfield, Cowley County, Kansas. Born to them one son Lee Neer. Q.M. Bixler and Ida L. Neer were married December 27, 1881 at Arkansas City, Kansas by T. McIntire, Justice of the Peace. Born to them, two sons Otto and Carl Bixler and Donna Bixler.

Joseph Almond Asbury Neer and Kate Straton were married in 1890. Born to them was one son Roy Neer and one daughter Goldy Neer.
