Donna Wood
Class of 1935

Donna Wood, Class of 1935, became a singer after graduation. She sang with Horace Heidt and had her own band, Donna and Her Don Juans. Art Carney, better known as 'Norton' from The Honeymooners, was in the band with her for a short period of time.

This picture of Donna was taken in 1942 shortly after playing in the comedy/musical movie, Pot 'O Gold, as Donna McCorkle which starred James Stewart.

While living in Arlington, Donna sang in a trio with her cousin Ginny. The trio went by the name The GLO-VIR-DON GIRLS, Novelty Singing and Dancing Trio, under the direction of Gertrude Wood, 16 Whittemore St. You could 'ring them up' by dialing AR-1904.
