Arlington High School
Marching Band

The picture above is the drumline to the 1968 AHS Marching Band. The band received new uniforms in 1966. They were designed using the same style as that used by Michigan State. Color was maroon and gray with the "A" on the front. That same year new Rogers red sparkle drums and white tubas were purchased.

The band was under the direction of Gerald Thebodo and Music Director L. Hassler Enzig.

The only people known in the picture are Pat Tassone "68" at the far left (current Music Director), bass drum Ralph Sexton "69" (whose son Mark, also a drummer, graduated from AHS, class of 2000), second from right Paul Dumas "69", and far right Paul Olson "68". The picture was taken from in front of Avery's TV on Massachusetts Avenue at St. James Church in celebration of Patriots Day.

The picture below is Bob Olson "69" playing the tuba. This picture was taken beside St. James Church on Appleton Place. The parade started at St. James Church and ended at the A&P parking lot in East Arlington.

Thank you Paul Olson for contributing the pictures.
